    heat the milk.
    The butter is lifted out of the churn with a butter bowl into a dish and the milk is washed out of it. Then it is salted, and made into rolls with butter bats. There are no local stories connected with churning and butter making. The buttermilk is used for making bread and some of it is given to pigs.
