    There were always brands on the cattle the best known being K. G. or Kellys, Clancys; M representing Mastersons. The latter was living some two miles from Ballinasloe. He Druhad some of the best horses in Ireland for they won the Galway plate three times in succession. The horses names were, "Drumsticks and Musician". Masterson was supposed to have 32 farms. There is a story concerning Masterson. About three miles from Ballinasloe there lived a man in a little thatched cottage he had about a half an acre of land. One day Masterson was driving very fast, the man rushed
