  1. There are monthly fairs held in our town which is Ballinasloe. There are four principal months in the year for fairs. January, there is a sale of pigs one day, cattle on another day and cattle, sheep, and horses on the second Saturday the same occurs in March, May and October. The local fairs are held in the Fair Green. Buyers never transacted business in farmer's houses or any where else long ago.
There are not any fairs held on hills or in castles or in cemetries in our district.
