  1. A halo around the moon it is the sign of rain. If the smoke curls to the ground, when it comes out of the chimney, it is the sign of rain. "A rainbow in the morning is a sheperd's warning. A rainbow at night is the sheperd's delight." If winged ants are seen on a stone, or on the road, it is a sign of rain. If a blue light is seen in the fire it is a sign of rain. When crickets are heard singing in the wall it is a sign of rain.
