    and a half distant in the townland of Clashduff near Áthaín bridge. This old school was built of sods. The subjects taught in this school were reading, writing and Arithmetic and other subjects. The pens they used were made of goose-quills. The teacher used go around to the neighbours lodging a night in every house.
