  1. A prayer said before going to sleep.
There are four corners on my bed. Four blessed angles round them spread, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, God bless this bed that I lie on. When I lie down to rest I give my soul to God to bless, and when I lie down to sleep I give my soul to God to keep. If any evil thing comes to hurt or harm me may the Blessed Virgin Mary awaken me. Amen
