    The branch line from Kilfree station to Ballaghadereen had to be cut through a fort. The first train ran on this line on the first of a month. It was said that the fairies met on the first of the month. All went well until the train came as far as the fort. It then stopped short and would not go.
    Try as they might the train would not move until the following morning. It then went as though it had sever been stopped.
