  1. The first thing to do, when preparing the ground for seed potatoes, is to plough the ground. Then harrow and cultivate it until it is fine enough to make drills. The drills are made with a plough. When the drills are made, the manure is put into furrows to make the ground rich. The seed potatoes are put on top of the manure, each seed about twelve inches apart, then the drills are split and the seed potatoes are covered in with a plough.
