  1. The Chapel Field, now in the possession of Mr J. Lalor of Clontoura, was once used as a place in which the priest used to offer Mass in the bygone Penal Days when priests were being hunted and a price was on their heads. There was supposed to be a Catholic Church in this field long ago.
    This particular field is opposite our house and from our door we can see the old holly bush under which, it is believed, the priest used to say Mass.
