  1. Jack Adair.
    Jack Adair lived in a mansion in the townsland of Rathadare, one mile from Jamestown. Jack Adair had 1,500 acres of land to his farm. How he came by most of this land was by avicty his tennts.
    When his tennts would go to pay him the rent on gale days, he would give them six months noitce to quit. All these tenants had to emoirgrat.
    He used to level all the houses himself when the people would not pay him rent. It was generally on Sunday he did all this work. He would be up on top of the house pulling off the tatch when the people would be going from Mass.
    He had estates in different parts of Ireland One of they was in the Deerys near Portlaoighise, Another outside Monasterevan. It was the Umeras farm. He also
