    "We only can play cricket.
    When no strangers are around,
    Near the wood at the back of Walker's,
    Upon James Comerford's ground."

    Now to conclude and finish up,
    And give credit where its due,
    Captain Dowlling and his cricket team
    Had hearts both stout and true.
    VIII
    To face the men of Comer,
    Who had victories by the score;
    I hope when Coolbawn meets them next,
    They will beat them ninety-four.
    Note.- Coolbawn is a townland about a mile and a quarter north of Castlecomer. It was composed by Jimie Ryan who lives in Smithstown, another townland about two and a half miles west of Castlecomer. Jimmie is a young man about forty years of age.
