    A short distance from Graignamanagh on the County Carlow side there are three sets of cross-roads.

    same thing happened. They went to an old man who told them to bury the body in this particular place. This they did and we are told that this place was the upper Cross of Skeogh and that the skeogh marked his burying place.

    Poor Scholars
    There was a sign outside a free mason hall in Carlow. On the sign were written the following words. "Turk Jew or Atheist may enter here but not a Papist." There was a poor scholar passing by and having read it, wrote underneath the following lines.
    "Whoever wrote it, wrote it well,
    For the same is written on the gates of hell."
    On the entrance gate to Brune's Estate in Carlow were written, "Men and money can do anything" so splendidly was it decorated. A poor-scholar passing by wrote underneath the following words,
