  1. On the road from Kilkenny to Kells there is a large stone by the roadside with the impression of Saint Patrick's knees upon it. The following story is told about it.
One day when Saint Patrick was travelling in Co. Kilkenny Finn MacCool sent a message to him for some certain request. Saint Patrick refused to grant it whereupon Finn took up the rock and threw it at him. It did not hit him however and so he went over to it and kneeling on it he offered a prayer to God for having delivered him from so ponderous a vistant. When he was kneeling on it the mark of his knees were impressed on the stone.
