  1. Monarue is a small townland situated in the parish of Ballyhale. The castle is about a quarter of a mile from the road.
A long time ago there was a man named Colm. He was a wealthy man and he buried his money in this castle afraid of robbers. Every night he used to go to dig up his money.
One night he went to get some of his money. It was very dark and he walked out on to it. He missed his footing fell down and got killed. To this the castle is know as Catlecolm.
According to tradition this man is seen standing at the Castle every night.
