   Hidden Treasure
   In the parish of PIltown not far from my own house there is place where treasure is said to be hidden. The name of the place is Daile Tíos. It is near the Great Southern Railway. It is a bottomless pond at eh side of the road. Within a hundred yards of the pond that railway man’s cottage is situated. About eighty years ago a man named James Power lived in this cottage. He kept a goat. He made a small house for the goat where the pond now is. It was believed he had a large sum of money. Some time before he died he buried the money in a metal pot or skillet in the goat’s house. The house was made of sticks and covered with reeds. After some time the house decayed and fell. All traces of it were lost. The land where the house was constructed was soft. It gradually sunk and the pond came into existence. Before he died he wrote to his son who lived in San Francisco. He told him about the money and where he had hid it. His son came home from America and tried to find it. Many attempts were made to find it but all failed. The he gave the search and returned to America. No more attempts were made to find it. Some of the people believe that he found the treasure and said nothing about it. There is no cause known for or why he hid the money. Probably he did not trust the people.
