  1. My Home District
    My home district is called Ballygown in the parish of Templeorum in the Barony of Iverk.
    There are fiftheen families in the townsland and the number of people is forty three the most common name is Larkin. There are only five thatched houses in it the others are slated. In olden times there was a very famous smith living there this is why it was called Ballygown the town of the smith. There are only three old people in the townsland their names are
    Philip Maher
    William Cuddihy
    Mrs Kennington
    The houses were more numerous in fomer times.
    There are many of them now in ruins.
