  1. Imleach Óna - is the correct name for the townland of Emla near Elphin. It derived its name from a Chieftain named Óna who dwelt there.
    When St. Patrick came to Elphin, he asked Óna for ground to build a church. The latter refused to give him any land save at a certain price. St. Patrick went to the corner of a field and produced gold to the value required and built a Church, where the Protestant Church now stands.
    Óna, when he saw this miracle, did not accept the gold and he became a Catholic and was baptised by St. Patrick.
