- Once upon a time there lived a woman in Cloonfad named Mrs. Kennedy. When the people used to get a headache their heads used to open and they used to go to this woman to get it cured. The manner of finding out whither the head was open she had was to place a woollen thread from the top of the head to the bottom of the chin and from the back of the head to the nose and she would pray while doing so. Then if the threads did not join together at the top of the head the head was open. It used to be generally done on Mondays and Thursdays.
This woman was also able to cure an ailment called the "cliatien." The "cliatien" can be caused by lifting heavy weights. The way(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
