    After Christmas and before Lent the people used to get married long ago.
    Long ago "straw boys" used to visit the house in which the wedding was held, and sometimes do damage. The people of the house used to give the "straw boys" drink so that they wouldn't do any harm.
    The people used to prefer to be married in blue long-ago and the old saying says "Married in blue sure to prove true."
