  1. The important festival and customs that are on St Brigid's day are people used to make crosses out of straw and hang them round the house and especially in the dairy because St Brigid was always working in the dairy.
    Candlemas day is the day after St Brigid's day. On that night the Bhrigidóga go round dressed up looking for money. There was an old rhyme on candlemas day throw candles and candlesticks away because the days are supposed to be long enough then and the people went to bed at dark.
