it from the ground and it is said that if a person who has a pain in the back creeps under the stone three times he will be cured immediately.
The clay in the vicinity of the old well is said to have cures. One day when Saint Lasar was standing at the well a man came staggering towards her, he had been wounded in a fight and was badly. She took up a piece of clay and touched the wounds with it and they healed immediately. Saint Lasar then blessed the clay around the well.
It is said Saint Lasar built three Churches altogether one in Co. Mayo, two in Co. Roscommon, Killaster after the Saint herself, and Kilronan after her father. Hence Kilronan means the Church of Ronan.
