    the ground. First a hole is dug in the ground. Then the potatoes are put in it and covered with clay and the dry stalks. When the potatoes are a whild in the pit they begin to bud, and they have to be turned in the pit and the buds taken off. Some of the names of the potatoes I know are:- Lumpers, Bangors Cups, Blacksmiths protestant stagger the beggar, Chieftains, Shamrock, Aran chiefs, Roses Champions Aran victors, Flounders and Kerris Pinks, British Queens, Skerry Champions, Majestes, Leinster Wonders, or College Pinks, Dig me, junior or I'll burst the drills. The potatoes grow best around Grangeclare
