  1. Long ago in Monaghan County there was a man digging in a field. He came upon a flat stone & began to dig around it. As he was doing so he lifted his head & looked around & there he saw his house on fire.
    He ran down to it it & was amazed to find that it was not on fire at all, so he went back to the field. But he could not find the flat stone anywhere & his spade was in
