    About four miles from here there still resides a man named John Mc Geough who was once a famous athlete. He was a very swift runner, and won many prizes for his racing. One room in his house is fully decorated with plaques and cups which he won in the many races in which he took part. He does not race on foot now, but he is a very good football player and he is very keen in watching all the football matches throughout the country. John Mc Geough still trains the Cavan football team.
