    to come to school. The master was paid every month in the school the paymaster would come around every mount and count the scholars who were at school for the past month. The master would be paid according to the number of pupils at school. The school would start about "half nine o'clock till 2..30 p.m. Before they would go the master would write down what would be done for the next day. No home exercises were done then. At writing time the class that would not be writing would have to stand along the wall until that class would finish writing
