    It is part of the townland of Screathan Fada in station.
    The "ladhar is formed by the junction of the Abha Caol and Abhaim Uí Chriadh.
    Because the townland to which Ladhar belonged was not generally agreed upon, it was formerly sold to two distinct persons by a ruse.

    Father Sylvy lived at Patrick Brosnan's old house. Thence he romoved to Rath Mhór to the doctor's outhouse, having got land here from Lord Kenmare. Some of the walls of the old house are still to be seen. He is said to have had two curates living with him.
