    juice out of them with a fine clean cloth. Make a cake of them then with a little flour, soda and a pinch of salt. Bake them in a hot griddle. From the juice you would get from the squeezing of the potatoes after resting for a while they get starch which they called potato starch.
    Oaten meal bread was made from oats. First the oats was ground with a quern and oaten bread was made from the grain.
