  1. Long ago the people were very brave. Several of them fought and died for their country. There are very brave men nowadays such as those boxers, wrestlers, jumpers, runners and even fliers. One of the famous strong men I know is Browne. He attends [?] our local fairs, racers and other amusements. He raised. wheel of the horse's car and put it on his jaw. There are three Cordal men I know Burke, O'Connor and Brosnan. Burke jumped eleven feet and also a [?] Connor ran from Cordal village to Gortglass in nine minutes.
    Bosnan is champion in weight [?] any mowing is not done nowadays by men, it is all done by horses and machinery in mostly every part of the world, because every generation is weaker than another, and at the last [?] it will take six men to pull a weed.
