    If swallows are seen flying low or if the seagulls are coming in from the sea it is the sign of rain
    If the cat is sitting with his back to the fire or if a dog is seen eating grass rain is sure to follow.
    If the hills seem near we can expect rain
    If the air is full of flies and they are flying low rain will follow
    When the smoke is going straight up from the chimney rain is near at hand. If soot is falling down the chimney it is the sign of rain.
    When the hens are seen picking themselves, we are certain to have rain
    Good Weather
    If the moon rises next it is the sign of frost or dry windy weather
    If the sun rises red it is the sign of good weather in summer time or if it sets a dark red in the west it is the sign of good weather.
    If the clouds are high it is a sign of good weather. If the hills seem far away good weather can be expected
