    was Winter. He went out to his farm to catch a horse on which he intended to ride.
    He searched and searched every field but could not find the horse. It was early morning and dark and made up his mind to go in to the house and bring out a lighted lantern. On his way in he found the horse. He caught him and when in the very act of seizing the animal he heard laughing and cheering coming from the fort because it was the fairies that hid the horse.
