    A man named Giant McCormack lived in Carnaree. He was so tall that he could thatch a house seven foot high standing on the ground.
    A great swimmer named William Quinn lived in Carnaree. After swimming twelve miles he rescued a girl which was almost drowned.
    Another great runner named Thomas Kelly who also lived in the district. In a race through a field he caught a rabbit. He also ran from Dublin to Sligo in on and a half days. Many victories were won by him in many contests in which he competed.
