  1. There is a lake in this parish called Lough na Suil. There is a story about how it came there. It is said that when the battle was in Moytura,Balor of the evil eye got stuck with a spere in the eye. Water started to flow from his eyes and it flowed to a valley and formed the lake which is called Lough na Suil.
    A few years ago the lake suddenly dried up there was a hole the spape of an eye in the middle of it. People from all round the country came to see it when it was dry.
