  1. The Landlords
    The Earl of Kingston was landlord over Cloughmine, Kilhare, Moytra, and Highwood olso Ballyfaron.
    He lived at Kilronan where he had a lovely demesne.
    He was not bad to his tenants, he never carried on these cruel evictions like others of his class.
    Colonel Fiolliard was another landlord, he had large properties in several parts of the County; he had one large property from Ballinafad to Castle Baldwin with a lot of tenants thereon. It happened that a daughter of his got ill and despite the best medical aid she was getting worse daily, and there were no hopes of her recovery; he sent for a specialist and told him any request he asked he would grant it to him if he would cure his daughter; the specialist, Gardener by name, cured the girl and he demanded Towerhill
