- The people of Holborn Hill are as near to the Green fort on the northern side as the people of the Mall are on the other side. The people are very superstitious, and they believe it to be unlucky for children or others to sleep on or to get a fall on the Green fort, as it is bewitched. A woman went up on the Fort, one summer's day a few years ago and she fell asleep with the heat of the day. After that her friends noticed that she had lost her senses and used to stray away. She would stand up during Mass and turn her apron and her shawl inside out. Her friends brought her everyplace to cure her but it was no use. At last they were(continues on next page)
