    Puck fair is now well known throughout Ireland. I have made inquiries of how it got its name.
    When Cromwell's soldiers were raiding the country, it is said that they were near Cahirciveen raiding. They carried away cattle and goats from the farmers. The soldiers had dogs driving the animals.
