    On November's nigh a girl goes straight out blindfolded to a cabbage field and pulls a cabbage stalk.

    On November's night a girl goes out blindfolded to a cabbage field and pulls a cabbage stalk. If the cabbage has a straight stalk she will get a straight (?) husband, but if the cabbage stalk is crooked her husband will be lame.
