When a person dies leaving a position vacant the expression "A noggin and spoon for another" is still used in this district.
    ---------
The following information was supplied by Margaret Cully, Carrowreagh, Tobercurry, Co Sligo and Pat Cully
" " " both 75 years. Farmers who have lived all their lives in this townland. Much of it datesback to their parents (dec.) who would now be over 100 years.
Their parents related most of it to them, and hey in turn passed it on, but the parents of to-day have not passed on the traditions which many of them have.

  2. I remember a woman, Jane Grady (now dead) being in our house to make the cure of "thrush" for the Baby. She blew her breath 9 times into his mouth + muttered some words. She had the cure because she was born after the death of her father.
