  1. The people long ago used strange cures. they used hot flour for erysepelas. If they cut their hand they would take a cobweb off the house and roll it round the cut. If a child had a sore head the cure was to warm cabbage and put in on its head. They also put a hare's skin around the head. If a child got the Crease Collar the gander to put his beak in the child's mouth and breathe into the mouth. If there were seven daughters in a family without a son between the seventh daughter had a cure for Ulcers. A child that was born after its father had died
