Many years ago an old man, his wife and only son lived in a small house near Killahan Church.

    (continued from previous page)
There once lived an old woman in Sliabh Bhuidhe. Her name was Biddy Browne, and she lived all alone. She became ill, and after a few days, she sent for a doctor. When the doctor examined her, he told her that she had a great cold in her chest. He gave her a plaster to put on to her chest for twenty-four hours. He called again after three days, and inquired of her how she was getting on. "Well, Doctor", said Biddy, the plaster you sent me was no good, as I have no chest but an old box, and it took me a long time before I could get it to stick. It was only this morning I managed to stick it all".
