- Sidheóigín Gannon was a boy who lived on Sliabh an Laraim. He was born in the morning, christened at dinnertime, and went to look for a wife in the evening. On his way he came across the axle of a cart. He brought it to the blacksmith and got a walking stick made out of it. he met a man in the evening. The man asked him who he was and where he was from. He told him he was Sidheóigín Gannon from Sliabh an Laraim and that he was born in the morning, christened at dinnertime, and that he was on his way to look for a wife that evening. The man told him he was too young to marry, and he asked him to got with him, and that he would give him work and feed him well, but no pay. His job was to herd cattle beside a giants' domain. He went with the man to the house and got a good supper. They took a walk that night. There lived three giants convenient, and they heard them laughing. Sidheóigín asked the master what they were laughing at. He said they were laughing at the whole world and that the whole world was afraid of them. "They are great fellows" said Sidheóigín.
