    was very great as the tools used in those day were made of wood. This earthen wall has different local names in each county, in Leitrim and Cavan it is called Jones's Folly while in the Mid-lands hollow's around it are known as the glen of the Folly. Only two other fortifications as old as this one are in the World, one in China , the other one is in Ingland.
