  1. The local landlord, Lord Leitrim, built a lot of houses in this district. He built the school in Farnaught which I go to now; he also built another school which is a dance hall now. When he was about to build another bit to Lough Rynn castle he made the road from Anskirt crossroads to Drumhirk, for a short cut to draw stones from Anskirt quarry. He used to make the children go to school every day and if they were poor he gave them clothes, or boots.
