    have come out, on to the roofs of the houses on Gallows Hill and Jamestown Road, where they remained singing till daybreak.
    2. Lismagot: The site on which eighty two houses have recently been erected and which was known as "Lismagot" is also supposed to have been an old fort, and quite recently, strange noises have been heard and lights seen in this old fort.
    3. Danes Fort: is another old fort situated on the Roscommon side of the town and which is supposed to have once been occupied by the Danes.
