    to kneel on the grass outside. The people made a small well inside it. The ruins of the chaple are to be sun still. People go to the well and bless themselves with the water and pray there.
    About one hundred and thirty years ago Mass used to be celebrated in a little house beside the road where Tom Hyne's shed now stands. It is about fifteen or twenty yards from our house.
    Father Carolan from County Caran was the priest who always celebrated Mass there. He celebrated it on Sundays and Holidays and also on some week-days. He lived in a house nearby. The people of Loughtavarna attended Mass there. A large flat stone was used as an alter of small one was used as a table for the water and wine. When all the people could not fit in the little house some would kneel outside the door. Father Carolan always remained in this parish while he was priest. The little house
