  1. In my own townland in one of the hills there is a treasure supposed to be buried. It is said that a man in Roscommon who never saw the place dreamt three nights in succession that he saw the gold. In his dream he saw two men that were to accompany him to get the treasure and he saw the terrible cat that was guarding it. He also dreamt that one of the men that who were to help him would be killed by the wild cat. The man came to see the place, and he said it was the very place he dreamt about. Even though one of the men would be killed they still said
