  1. The Gobán Saor was a great builder, that lived in Ireland long ago, it is said that it was he who built all the castles and palaces that was found in Ireland long ago. His fame spread all over England and the Kings of England heard about him. The castles at that time were nearly all built of wood, it was not because they did not know how to build with stone but building with stone was not known. At that time all Ireland was covered with wood, and everyone could have as much timber as they liked. No man could build as good as the Gobán Saor. The Gobán had a son, but he wasn't as good a tradesman as his father. He wished to see his son married before he died. One day the Gobán told his servant to kill and skin a sheep, when this was done he told his son to take the skin to the fair. So he did so,
