   21st November 1938 Old Customs continued When a cow is after calfing they tie a piece of a red rag to her tail, this is a lucky thing to do. After a cow is calfing they bring out a blessed candle if if they have any and burn all the hair out of her udder. If a person came into the house when you are churning you should give them the churn to do a bit of it. If you did not they say that the person who came in would bring the luck with them.
