- SmithsThey are three black smiths in the parish of Kilererin and each of them has his own forge. John Boyle the local smith is situated in the townland Dangan Beag beside the Galway main road. The walls of the forge are made of stone and is roofed by wood and then cover with asphalt. The tools used by those smiths are a vice, a bellows, an anvil, a sledge hammer, pincers, tongs, clampers rule boring machine punch and fire shovel. The forge has a double rolling door facing the main road. The principle works are, the shoeing of donkeys and horses and the making and repairing of ploughs, harrows, sculpler, etc. The anvil is placed on a block about two feet thick.
