  2. Travelling Folk
    Many travelling people come around this part of the country. They travel by means of asses and carts and some of them have horses and carts. They always camp on the side of the road in a lonely spot. One night is the longest they stay in any place. During that time they go around begging alms and selling small articles. Some of them are very clever at making things out of wood and tin. They make tin-cans and saucepans out of tin and they make little tables out of wood. They sell them at every house they visit. Some of them are very rich and others are very poor. When the October Fair Week is coming near you will see them gathering in the fair green where they set up their tents and remain there for that week. During that week they go around selling blessed pictures and other things. They also tell fortunes. They are always buying asses and ponies and selling them again and making money on them. This is how they make their living. The people in this district call
