  1. Long ago the people used to tell a great many stories and they were famous for it. The people used go around from house to house telling stories and if it were a long one they would come another night to tell it and here is an old story about the children of Lir and this has been translated into books.
    In Ireland long ago there lived a great Chieftain named Lir and he had four pretty children three boys and a girl and the boys names were:- Aodh, Fiacra, and Conn and the girl's name was Finola.
    After a while the children's mother died and great sorrow fell upon the house of Lir.
    Then Lir married another woman whose name was Eva and she was his first wifes sister.
    Now Eva disliked the children when she saw how their father loved them, and she made up her mind that they should die. For along time
